Dear mom and dad:

Hi parents... how are you? I'm okay, I miss you. Here in the USA it is very different from Costa Rica. The people are very serious, and they lead a quick life.

It is very expensive, but I have earned a lot of money.

The USA is beatiful, but I miss the nature of my own country, and the food as well.

Here, the only eat fast food, I miss the food, the gallo pinto, the casado, etc.

The influence of the media creating stereotypes

The reality of the media is inevitably engaged in society in a negative way if we talk about stereotypes. I believe both men and women need to be that perfect person that everyone wants, ignoring good nutrition often affecting their health, anorexia and bulimia, even the famous surgeries. The parameters dictated within the media tell us who is beautiful and who don’t, who is sane and who isn’t. But in the end what is worth, often it works to create envy and discussions between same sex who don’t accept their differences, to the point of creating complexes.

“The letter"

Dear sir:

By media I salute you at the same time I communicate you my complacency about the “sello verde” they day Monday January 25^th at 4pm. I wen to the one on flamenco and belly dancing.

I really enjoyed it. But I missed some information on the history of these dances. It would be nice if that were included next time.

“My life”

1- As a child I dreamt of being a doctor, and I played that I was a doctor. Another dream was to be a dentist. I was a crazy child and jumped from place to place.

2- As a teenager my wildest dream was to be a rock star because I liked music so much. My music favorite is Metal. I learned to play guitar with my friends and we wrote songs.

3- As an adult/I realized that dreams can come true. When I am adult, I want to have my own clinic and have a little family and have a lot of money too.

“If I were…”

If I were a rock star, I could travel around the word and get to known some places. I could play my music in whatever place. I could listen to people screaming my name!!!. I could play in front of thousand persons.

“Imagine yourself as an old person, think about your life and write about it”

I remember that when I was young, I went with my friends to bars to listen to music. I went to concerts of the “·ska” with them.

We were very crazy and did very crazy things. Also I had a band and I was the singer. I had two pets: two birds. They were green and cute.

“The intelligent animal”

The dolphins are considered the most intelligent animals for two important reasons. First, these animals have the ability to communicate with each other and in some cases with humans. Second, they animals are the only ones that have sex for pleasure, these use sex to maintain their social relations. For these reasons the dolphins can be called very intelligent animals.

“Me”

My name is Jeycol Matarrita Salas. I live in Tres Rios, Cartago. I’ m 18 years old, but this year I will turn 19. My family is very small. I’m living with my parents and no one else. I have two pets, two birds; they are little, very green, and they can say words. Sometimes they are very funny. I have been studying dentistry for about one year. I like it so much and its my dream to be a dentist and have lots of money.
